Axier Sánchez

Baritone Axier Sánchez,  warm and powerfull voice, with elegant stage presence, also he has performed in some of the best important spanish theaters such as Teatro Real, Teatros del Canal and Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), Teatro Arriaga and Palacio Euskalduna (Bilbao), Auditorio de Tenerife, Palau de la Música (Valencia), Palacio de la Ópera (A Coruña), Teatro Campoamor (Oviedo), also in Accademia Santa Cecilia (Roma) and The Pearl (Doha, Qatar) together with tenor Plácido Domingo

Mr. Sánchez has worked with conductors and stage directors such as Sagi, Bieito, Albrecht, Giménez Carreras, Grüber, Pasqual, Encinar, Ros Marbá, Gómez Martínez, Hernández Silva, Mir, Caballé-Domenech, Mielgo, Coves, Soler, Carniti, Carreres, Albiach, Ortega and Aragón.

Some of the most remarkable roles of his operatic repertoire include Escamillo “Carmen”, Rodrigo “Don Carlo”, Enrico “Lucia di Lammermoor”, Riccardo “I Puritani”, Ernesto “Il pirata”, Marcello “La Boheme”, Belcore “L´elisir d´amore”, Don Giovanni “Don Giovanni”, Conte “Le nozze di Figaro”, Guglielmo “Così fan tutte”. Also he performed Verdi’s Requiem, Rossini’s Messe Solennelle, Brahm’s Ein Deutsches Requiem, Dvorák’s Stabat Mater, Fauré’s Requiem, Donizetti’s Messa di Requiem and Mozart’s Requiem. And Zarzuelas “La del manojo de rosas”, “La leyenda del beso”, “Katiuska”, “Marina”, “La revoltosa”.

Born in Irún (Guipuzcoa, Spain) baritone Axier Sánchez has completed their studies at the Universidad Autónoma and at the Escuela Superior de Canto (Madrid). Mr. Sánchez was accepted in the Academy Santa Cecilia´s Opera Studio (Roma, Italy) where he studied under the guidance of Scotto y Bazzoni Bartoli. Also, he has worked repertoire with Maestros Zedda, Nucci and Devia.
